Construction
Our theme this week was construction, another one of Bud's favorite things. His love for all things "construction site" related began when our friends gave him the book Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site a while back--and it has grown and grown ever since. So as you might imagine, it was a fun week in our little schoolhouse! We read a couple of construction themed books this week. Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel is a classic. I read it when I was little, and it makes my heart so happy that my little bud loves it as much as I do. In addition to the fun storyline and fantastic illustrations, the underlying message is an important one: to never give up on who and what you care about--and to work hard to get the job done. We also read B Is For Bulldozer , which was a great way to sneak an alphabet lesson into our construction theme.
